Seton Hall Student Dies After Frat House Shooting

East Orange, NJ, United States (NewsBahn) – One of five students wounded in a shooting early Saturday morning at an off-campus fraternity house in New Jersey has died, according to hospital and police officials.

Jessica Moore, a 19-year-old Virginia sophomore at Seton Hall University, had been injured after an unidentified man reportedly got into a fight when he tried to crash a party at the house. Police reports said he returned a few minutes later with a handgun and began shooting.

The other four persons who were shot, two men and two women, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The private house about a mile from the Seton Hall campus was packed with students when the shooting broke out about 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Some people were trampled as people fled the house, with some diving through windows.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the assailant. He is described as a black man in his 20s between 5-foot-11 and 6-foot-2 with a stocky build and a scruffy full beard.
