The answer to this last question is most likely yes if you are not looking for and applying for college scholarships. The fact is most Americans love a good deal when they see one, but when it comes to trying to save money on college tuition, people overlook the obvious, college scholarships.

College scholarships are available to virtually anyone of any background, interest and intelligence. You don’t need to have a perfect or near perfect GPA; you don’t need to excel in sports; and you don’t even need to be a high school student or college student to qualify for many. College scholarships vary and more people qualify for many scholarships despite what they might think.

However, even with college tuition increasing at an average of 8% per year, many still overlook college scholarships as a means to pay for college. Sadly, many college scholarships go unawarded every year because no one has applied for them. This means thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands not awarded to those who might be eligible because they did not search and apply for them. How much money could you be overlooking?

College scholarships have many benefits over other forms of college financing. For one, they do not have to be repaid unlike loans. They are also not always dependent on income, unlike many grants and guaranteed student loans. They are literally free money for college and can go a long way in helping pay for college and help you or your child minimize your debt or even keep your college funding debt near zero. All you or your child needs to do is find the scholarships and apply.

Remember, you can’t get scholarship money just by reading this article. You need to take action now. Use a free scholarship service to find college scholarships you might be eligible for and apply for them. Simply as that.
